1.) Redsn0w downloaden.
2.) Die Anwendung öffnen und bei Browse die jeweilige Firmware wählen.
3.) Auf Next drücken und die gewünschten Funktionen aktivieren: Cydia installieren, eigene Boot Logos, Verbose Boot und ab Redsn0w 0.9.5: Multitasking, eigene Wallpaper und eine Batterie Prozent Anzeige.
4.) iPhone in den DFU Mode oder Recovery Mode setzen. – DFU: 3 Sekunden Power, 12 Sekunden Power und Home und 15 Sekunden Home. – Recovery: Power und Home Taste drücken bis zum iTunes Logo mit USB Kabel
5.) “Downloading Jailbreak Data” erscheint am iPhone und dann eine laufende Annanas. Danach startet das iPhone neu.
6.) Cydia neu Organisieren lassen.

Redsn0w führt auch eine Hacktivation durch und kann auf einem nicht aktivierten iPhone ausgeführt werden. 1 Der Jailbreak ist tethered. Nach jedem Neustart des iPhones/iPod touch muss Redsn0w ausgeführt werden. 2 Noch in der Beta Phase und nur für Mac OS X. Verursacht Probleme mit der iPod App, der YouTube App, sowie mit Bluetooth und Multitasking. Sollte dein Gerät/Firmware nicht aufgelistet sein, ist es/sie nicht kompatibel.
